Santosh BK,
It was one of my most memorable days. Early in the morning around 8:00AM we started our journey from Deerwalk Bharatpur School with enthusiasm and excitement. All the teachers boarded the school bus and started our journey towards Madi. The bus ride was lively and full of energy due to Dhohori songs sung by Prem Sir, Manisa Miss, and Deepa Maam which created a cheerful environment and made our journey more enjoyable.
We travelled by our school bus up to the Shree Someshowor Madhyawarti Samudayik Ban Prabesh Dwar, which is the entry gate of the community forest. This point marked the beginning of our hiking. After getting off the bus, we tightened our shoelaces, carried our backpacks, and prepared ourselves for the walk ahead. The first part of the hike was easy as the way was not so challenging. We walked through a jungle that was almost three kilometers. The walk through the jungle was pleasant due to its peaceful and green surroundings.
However, after reaching Maheshwori Gange, the path began to change. The road gradually became more difficult. Still, we kept our spirit strong, and we encouraged one another to keep moving. After approximately three hours of continuous walking, we finally arrived at the Someshowor Gadi Gate. We took a rest, clicked a memorable group photo, and re-energized ourselves for our next destination, which was Someshowor Temple .
From the gate, we started walking towards the Someshowor Temple. The path was not easy, but steps and railings along the way made our climb slightly easier. After about an hour of constant walking, we reached the historical Someshowor Temple. We spent some time looking around the temple area and offering prayers. We also got a chance to witness one of the oldest Shiva Lingas of Nepal.
We took a short pause to prepare and enjoy a delicious chatpate on the way while returning from the temple. During this time, we met a friendly man from Kathmandu who joined us for refreshments. He showed his interest to know about our school after seeing our Deerwalk shirts, and we had a short but meaningful conversation.
Next, we visited a place where there is a Jange pillar(the pillar no. 45) that borders India and Nepal. The pillar is located on a very high and steep hill. However, we successfully reached the pillar and took photographs to capture the moment.
Our bus was waiting for us at Maheshwori Gange. We reached there at around 6 PM and got on the bus back to Bharatpur. On the way, we enjoyed a delicious dinner at Patte Dhindo in Hakimchowk. Finally, we returned to school and dispersed to our homes. It was a wonderful day filled with lasting memories and a story to share with the family.
