On 23rd Magh 2082 (6th February 2026), Friday, our school organized a hiking program for the students. The hiking route was about 15 kilometers long. It started from Chandibhairab School and ended at our school gate. All of us were very excited, as we had been waiting for this day for a long time.
On that day, we reached school at the usual time. We stayed in class for about one hour and then had our lunch break. After lunch, we waited for further instructions. Our sir asked us to stand in a straight line, class-wise, and explained the rules we had to follow during the hike. Then, we went by school bus to Chandibhairab School, the starting point of our hike.
From there, we began walking in pairs. At first, the walk felt a bit long, but as we moved ahead, it became more enjoyable. We talked with our friends, sang songs, and laughed a lot. Some of us walked together with friends, which made the journey more fun. Even when we were at the back of the line, we did not mind because we were enjoying ourselves.
During the hike, we saw many beautiful flowers, tall trees, and small temples. The natural environment was very peaceful and refreshing. One of the most enjoyable parts was collecting pine cones along the way. We took short breaks at different places. We rested near a big pipal tree and also at a chautari. Later, we had our snacks near a temple. We also filled our water bottles from a tap and washed our faces, which made us feel fresh again.
After resting, we continued our walk and finally reached Jugedi Pool. There, our sir told us that the bus would come to pick us up. After waiting for a few minutes, the bus arrived and took us back to school.
Although we were tired after walking such a long distance, we felt very happy and proud. We also missed some of our friends, who could not join us that day due to their participation in Rastrapati Running Shield.
This hiking program taught us teamwork, discipline, patience, and the importance of physical fitness. It also helped us understand and enjoy nature more.
Overall, the hiking program was very enjoyable, meaningful, and unforgettable.
