The Friday of 11th Poush, 2082 was not a usual school day for the 2nd Grade young learners of Deerwalk Sifal School. Neither was it a normal working day for the teachers. We all were at a high spirit of excitement and enthusiasm. The reason – a one-day-hiking-trip was to befall on the very day for all of us. The children were extremely happy but with a sense of a little nervousness as they had to walk the hill along with their friends and teachers. While some students were used to hiking, others were novice.

The wait was finally over. On Friday, 26th December 2025, the Grade 1 teams of Kanchenjunga and Lhotse, with a total of 43 students, set out for their first-ever hiking experience from school.The students were extremely excited, energetic, and curious from the day before the hike. They were eagerly looking forward to having fun together and experiencing a little tiredness along the way as part of the adventure.

Last Friday, we went on a hiking trip to Raniban. Our coordinators were our class teacher Deewakar Sir and our math teacher Sila Adhikari Ma’am. Raniban is a jungle area surrounding Phewa Lake. We left the school at 10:30 AM and reached Raniban by bus at around 10:45.
