Thanking the weather for being good, despite the forecast of heavy rain on 16 February, Saturday, we gathered in Deerwalk complex at 10:30 am. We all had been waiting for this day since months and were very excited. 22 people including me along with our 3 teachers, headed by bus towards our first destination, Markhu.
Deerwalk Services has been organizing different community and social events with an aim of raising awareness about social responsibilities of an individual and its positive impact on society. Deerclean is one of the events which is being held since 12th May, 2018, with major aim of maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of school environment.
On Saturday, November 24, 2018, energetic volunteers of Squad C were up bright and early to contribute their efforts for DEERCLEAN—a CSR initiative started this year by Deerwalk wherein a group of Deerwalkers clean a government school with the goal of providing a clean environment for their students.
Buddha said, “Meditation brings wisdom; lack of meditation leaves ignorance. Know well what leads you forward and what holds you back, and choose the path that leads to wisdom.” So with this purpose we headed to our destination, Bhikkhu Sadhana Sthal located on the way to Raanibari from Mahadevbesi for our 4-days meditation retreat.
2018 DEERPICNIC was held at Godavari Village Resort on Saturday, November 17, 2018. It was a clear, crisp Saturday that turned into a beautiful sunny day. The picnic started off with a delicious breakfast of coffee, tea, cookies, sandwiches, and pakauda in order to energize everyone for the day.
Deerwalk Services (DWS) started a monthly community service campaign named Deerclean. The first Deerclean was held on May 12, 2018, with the aim to reestablish and restore cleanliness of the school environment. All 4 squads were committed to taking this initiative a step further. Needless to say, squad D eagerly waited for their turn to take part in the Deerclean event scheduled on Saturday, 27th October 2018.
On August 17, 2018, Rudra Pandey, Executive Chairman, conducted Deerwalk Managers Workshop at the Dwarika’s Hotel with 26 managers of our Kathmandu office. Each manager gave a 3-minute SWOT analysis of their team. Muna Joshi, a board member, gave away prizes to the best presenters: Awanish Ranjan (First), Sushant Pandey (Second), Sanshila Gurung (Third), and Kanchan Raj Pandey (Fourth). The lively event concluded with valuable management tips from Rudra, followed by delightful dinner.

It was quite an excitement at 8: 00 am in the morning as we all gathered for an event that we had never participated before; Deerclean. Deerclean is an community service campaign organized by Deerwalk Services where employees gather as squad wise, visit a government school and help the school clean its environment.
This first event of Deerclean was initiated with managers, CAC, and admin staff with the aim to encourage other Deerwalkers to participate in future.
