Technically, it was an emergency hotfix for me when my second visit to the US was confirmed. Later a month’s stay was extended to three months. Landing in Boston was a different experience this time. Earlier I had a bad experience of jet lag; however, this time, I was more confident and active. I would like to thank the entire Deerwalk Lexington Team for making me feel at home and for their friendly hospitality. My thanks and remembrance to all.
On Saturday, September 21, 2019, we, the Deerwalkers of Squad C, got ready for Deerclean. Deerclean is a campaign organized by Deerwalk Services to create awareness about the importance of a clean and healthy environment. This was my first experience in participating in the Deerclean event, and I was really excited about it.
With the excitement and expectation to witness the panoramas of Gaurishankar, Langtang, Ganesh, Annapurna and their wide ranges, We met at Deerwalk premises at 7:45 am. We gathered notebooks, pencils and filled water on our deerwalk bottles. Then we left for Tokha at approximately 8:10 am. We had planned to start hike from Tokha. So we went on micro till Tokha. The hike was quite exploratory as we had no idea how breakfast would be around Jagat Buspark. We had breakfast near Tokha (I recommended not to rely on breakfast near Jagat Buspark. ) and started our hike.
August 30, 2019. The most awaited day of my life had finally arrived. This was the day when my flight was scheduled to take off from the Tribhuvan International Airport to the Boston Logan International Airport. With bags packed and ready to go, mind and body filled with excitement, I reached the airport three hours […]
The hike was set to start at 7AM sharp, the heat wave of the summer was leaving us and it was a pleasantly cool day with hints of unnoticeable droplets of rain. Kapil dai had concocted a shrewd plan to make the latecomer be the one to document the event of the day, and needless to say, I was the one who got the low end of the stick. The ensemble of hikers also included 2 guests from the American embassy Mike Mussi and Bruce Keen along with few of us deerwalkers left the premises of Deerwalk off to Changunarayan, around 7:15. On the way we picked up Kamal at Baneshwor and Jeevan dai at Pepsicola(technically Jeevan dai was the last to arrive, so he should be writing this reports, but semantics).
For me, the official visit to the US was a “much-anticipated trip of my career.” Whenever I went through my colleagues’ US visit blogs in everestuncensored.org, I always wanted to experience how things were in the US. Putting down all the memories into words about that one month of my life was what I had […]
Our hike started with some group selfies and cheerful laughters. We stopped at Dhulikhel for breakfast, where we met Kanchi, a jovial four months old Boxer. We instantly fell in love with her. From New Horizon resort we started our journey. My motto for any hike is, “Always walk ahead so that you will have plenty of time to rest and enjoy the view while the rest of the group catch up.” So I walked ahead.
It was my second International flight and the first one to the States. I was really excited about this trip, which started on July 31, 2019, at 3 PM. It was raining steadily when I landed in Boston, but the rest of the days turned out to be the best ones. I had an amazing […]
Our hike started great. Everybody was on time as we had planned. We left the office at around 7:30. We decided to stop for breakfast at chobar. After half an hour we left chobar and towards Dakshinkali. From Dakshinkali there were two paths that reached sisneri.
“STOP WORRYING ABOUT THE POTHOLES IN THE ROAD AND JUST ENJOY THE JOURNEY” that’s what I said to myself when we reached Kalanki. Little did we know that this is going to be one of those memories that will send chills down our spine whenever we think about it. On August 24, 2019, I, Pratiksha, and Roshan left Deerwalk Complex at around 8 AM to start our fun-filled two days hike to Bandipur. Before this gets misinterpreted, we were supposed to pick up the rest of the hikers Susan, Utsuk, Sujan, Smriti, Roshan, and Sumit on our way. We had with us musicians and musical instruments, singers and songs, and lots of snacks for the journey.
