Two separate bus accidents have claimed 11 lives in the last 24 hours. In a terrible bus accident at Prithvi highway, 10 passengers, including a woman and two children, have been killed. 46 others have been injured when a passenger bus veered off the road at Mahadevbesi of Dhading early morning Friday.
The passenger bus (NA 2 Kha 2834) bound for Kathmandu from Katari of Udaypur fell 200 meters down into Mahesh Khola at around 4:30 this morning. Traffic Police has guessed the overload might have led to the accident. The passenger bus was carrying more than 100 passengers, many of them on roof. Those injured have been brought to Kathmandu and are undergoing treatment at Bir hospital.
In an another accident, one Bangladeshi student has been killed. 47 others have been injured when a reserved bus (Na 3 Kha 1310) carrying students of a Bangladeshi university met with an accident at Ratemate, Churiyamai of Makawanpur this morning.
The bus was heading towards Kathmandu from Kakarvitta. Six of the injured are reported serious and have been taken to Bharatpur for treatment.
