I have always loved to go to new places and experience local cultures and traditions.  As such, I was really excited to join the Deerwalk hike team. It was my first hike since joining the company.
The planned route of the hike was from Dhulikhel to Nagarkot. As planned, we gathered at the office premises at about seven in the morning. We left the office at 7:30 AM by office van. Before leaving, we took a head count – and it was seven – excluding Kedar, who was driving us to Dhulikhel. At 8:25 AM, we stopped at Banepa to pick up Rosina – the eighth hiker of our team.

It all began with excitement as I was going to Pokhara after more than twenty years. Our hiking team – ManishS, KanchanP, SulekhaB, SubashN, ShakunS, JeevanT, AshayT, ArjunA, ShushilS, SangeetaM, SurendraA, and PrativaS – were picked up early in the morning at 6:30 AM. It was a long drive as we all had anticipated. We reached Naubise at 9:30 AM, and we stopped by Banepali Hotel for breakfast. Then we continued on our way. Some time later we made another stop to buy some watermelons to refresh ourselves.

Deerwalk has a wonderful work environment with all sorts of exciting activates such as hiking. Hiking is the best way to explore new places. It was a lucky Sunday for me when I arrived at the office for some work. Many of my coworkers were waiting for our CTO, Jeff, who was arriving from USA that day and was supposed to join them on a hike.

Jeff Gasser, president of Deerwalk, all the way from Florida, was challenging and inspiring the youths to join the hike.

Deerwalk Team was all set to celebrate the day with a picnic at Scout ground, Kakani. The presence of the Big Bs’ – Rudra Pandey and Jeff Gasser (Chairman, and President of the company respectively) – graced the program. I was enjoying the music and dance when everybody was called to the center of the ground. The two leaders were making some plans and finally the game was out. It was a 20-dollar prize quiz – all questions prepared on the fly – about Deerwalk. Each question was provided with two options.
