Nepal government reacts over North Korean nuclear test

The Nepal Government has expressed grave concern over the recent nuclear test by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK). Issuing a statement Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the Government of Nepal views the Korean nuclear test as an unfortunate and uncalled for incident.

The statement said “It will aggravate the delicate situation in the Korean peninsula and the region and will have adverse ramifications for international peace and security.”
The statement further said, as an ardent advocate of general and complete disarmament of all weapons of mass destruction, Nepal strongly opposes proliferation of weapons and race for armaments irrespective of their locations and motives.
Nepal government has also called for the peaceful resolution of all international disputes.
