For most of us, coming from this part of the world, traveling or visiting the United States is a lifetime experience and I am among the fortunate few who got the privilege of visiting the country twice, thanks to Deerwalk. Yes, this was my second visit to the US in the last 18 months. And like everyone, I was very excited to go. The weather during the month of August and September is considered to be the best in Massachusetts. I couldn’t wait to get on the plane. The feeling, however, was a mixed one, happy to visit the US again but sad by the fact that I had to leave my family for a long time (3 months). On the 15th of August, I reached Boston.
The Lexington office this time though looked very different due to the presence of us (Nepalese) in the office and the number kept on increasing as each month passed by. So it was very much like our Kathmandu office apart from the working culture which I have to say is completely different.
Like all visitors from Nepal, I looked forward to my weekends. I had a good time traveling to the Northern part of the country, Maine, Bar Harbor which are few among many popular tourist destinations. The small two storey buildings reminded me Pokhara and we named it as “US Ko Pokhara”. The next place that I went is very popular among Nepalese travelers i.e. New York City. Every time we travel to New York, the city amazes you with something new and it does live by the name of “The City Of Dreams”. Next, I visited Washington, D.C. – the city of museums. The experience of standing in front of the White House and taking pictures is something I will never forget.
The US team in Lexington office does a great job.
They are the ones that face and deal with clients 24/7. I had a very good experience of attending all the client calls and getting to know them closely.
They are the ones that face and deal with clients 24/7. I had a very good experience of attending all the client calls and getting to know them closely. Now I understand what it is like facing the client directly and also learned ways to deal with them in different situations. Overall it was a great opportunity to me and it’s something that will help me grow professionally and personally. The US team made my stay so comfortable that it was very difficult for me to say Goodbye at the end.
The highlight of my stay was the moment that happened while watching the NBA game between Celtics and Sacramento Kings. What a moment it was when we were caught by the camera and put up on the big jumbo screen.
My special thanks goes to Rudra dai and Muna bhauju for all the invitations to lunches and dinners, Abanish dai and Richa bhauju, for letting me stay at your place and treating me with all the delicious Indian food, really loved it. Thanks to my B1 Gang and Thank You, Deerwalk Family (US and Nepal).
