Maoists differ over Peace Accord Draft

Posted by: EverestUncensored Correspondent

The Maoist leader Dr. Baburam Bhattrai has rejected the Peace Accord draft prepared by the high level peace Committee.

Dr. Bhattrai said that his party would not accept the draft as it was prepared without the participation of his Party. He also objected that the Peace Committee is participated in by the parties which supported the Regression or didn’t participate in the movement. The Peace Committee is participated in by ten parties at the House of Representatives including Rastriya janashakti Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Nepal Sadvabana Party except the seven parties.

He has also criticized the government for making public the draft prior to the signing.
Dr Bhattarai was talking to journalists Tuesday in Kavre where the central committee of the CPN Maoists is meeting.

He said his party is also drafting the peace accord and added however, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and Maoist supremo Prachanda will sign the accord on the fixed date i.e. Thursday.
