The High Level Probe Commission (HLPC) formed to investigate the atrocities committed by the erstwhile royal regime to suppress the popular Movement has sent a set of questions to King Gyanendra seeking explanations on his role in suppressing the popular uprising.
Attributing HLPC Spokesperson Dilli Raman Acharya, Ekantipur.com reported that the questionnaire was sent to the royal palace this afternoon.
“We have asked the king some questions over his alleged role in suppressing the April Movement as the Chairman of the erstwhile Council of Ministers,” ekantipur reported Acharya as saying.
The seven-party alliance government formed after the success of the April Movement had constituted the HLPC, under the coordination of former Supreme Court justice Krishna Jung Rayamajhi, soon after coming to power.
