dovan: “empower the more fortunate women”
There are women who never went to school doing chores in the house.
There are women who live slavish life with their abusive husbands.
There are women like us – urban young women with sheltered lives working in a top-notch software firm.
There are women in parliament. There are women in the race for American presidential elections.
But all these women need empowerment .Of course less fortunate ones need more urgent and serious attention and intensive support.
But empowerment should be in all levels.
Empowerment is not just giving free primary education to women but also encouraging them for competitive careers, respecting their individuality and believing them for leadership.
Heretic, a woman working in some IT firm when compared with an uneducated rural woman may seem fortunate but when compared with her fellow male colleagues, she has of course harder life.
Even most bright and fortunate women tend to stop at mediocrity and it has nothing to do with smaller brains but unequal gender relations.
This is why there are different programs also for empowering educated women.
For example WIT gives scholarships to women like me for technical studies.
Because only if you empower the ‘more fortunate’ women , can they get into legislative and leadership position and bring real programs for the empowerment of all women, along with their less fortunate sisters.
i can’t belive u chauvinist pigs.. whats this flash got to do with vag ina? d2 must be the most sexist american corporation that goes unsued.
I wonder why this author did not celebrate another V-day in women’s day? Has this article writer seen the light out of dark brain that Common women do not need or can’t celebrate their Vs but their daily lives unlike the author (who seems to dream/work/talk about only V from previous two hot postings), so is not fighting for the common problems on women but own selfish desire to promote own and similar V—na.
If the author were true women the author could have posted some article on her service: paying women beggars, going to women society, fooding homeless women/girls, participating in so many women encouragement programs, calling the kantipur expert again to talk on women and we do not want that male like correspondent(If this author is really feminine, the correspondent must be women too not to get that Mr Remark), being a nurse for the day and touch the wound in some leper woman’s hands.
Thank you for using images that represent women that need empowerment. Thousands of steps up from urban young women with sheltered lives working in a top-notch software firm complaining about how hard they’ve got it.
