Few pictures that I took with Kundan’s camera while waiting for the train to North Station. It was cold and windy. I was shivering even with my sports jacket on - as you can infer with the quality of some (well, may be most) images. The practice session lasted for almost forty minutes before it started to pour. I shook a few hands and said goodbyes after an eventful five days’ stay at Waltham. Then I ran for cover to the platform.

A press conference for the upcoming DHL Six-a-side 5th Soccer Tournament organized by Lotus Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. was held today at Nepal’s Sports Journalist Association, Dashrath Stadium. So far 26 teams have registered to compete in DHL six-a-side 5th soccer tournament. Following is the fixture determined by the draw held today. D2 will play in Group B against CAS Trading House and Smart Choice Technologies. D2 is participating for the second time in this tournament.

The league matches will be held at St. Xavier’s Ground, Jawalakhel on Saturday 5^th July, 2008 starting from 8.30AM onwards. One winning team from each group will play in the quarter finals. Quarter final, Semi final and Final will be played on Saturday 12^th July 2008.

There is another event ‘Tug of War‘ between the spectators of competing teams and other fun filled programs as well. Entrance is free. All the supporters are requested to come, participate, and enjoy the event.

The last week’s practice session was focused on team strategy and shooting practice. The lads are ready for the challenge and is sure to put up a strong competition.

Anyway, it was a big fun with many new games played. Many Proposals and rejection offers were heard. Many were crying to release the pain and many more were laughing to release the excitement of the party. As soon as Thakur Gyawali entered the party scene, it started getting hotter. Other missing teams started jumping in who had to finish their jobs before joining the party. There was a huge hullabaloo. All started peeking in to see what happened inside the circle.Raj Thakuri won the game and got chance to propose to a Princess by becoming a Knight. Hitesh Karki became the Knight and proposed to another Princess by kneeling before her. We were mesmerized by this new play seen first time in the history of get-together and parties. It continued as the night slipped by and the moon started to shower its charismatic spell on party-makers.

It was a great opportunity to bind diverse teams into one place at one time and to recognize many faces previously unknown.

Many did not make to Party even though they received invitations.

Vishnu and Prashanta Shrestha had booked the place on Tuesday to make plenty of time and room for us.

The Chinese Cuisines were superb lest we are not used to the food quality of Chinese daily. The International Standard place, beautiful garden, and the rooftop with all are seen below in photographs that are not Edited at all.

It was a lucky day for Nepalese as the former King Gyanendra at last left his big Narayanhiti Palace making room for federal republic. The pictures below show eve of the moment when there will not be another such sunset, and the Statute of the First Shah Ruler of Kathmandu will never again witness his inheritors staying in Narayanhiti palace. “Narayan” is Hindu God’s name and “hiti” means water spout.

The team had already practiced long enough to sweat out their stamina but the spirit was high. D2 played at a pace faster than usual to keep up with the speed of the opponent team. The D2 offense, led by Richan was better organized and gave the opponent defense and goalkeeper a hard time with some counter-attacks.

D2 has found a new talent at the posts. D2 Goalie (Rajeev) made some spectacular saves and even blocked a penalty kick from Roshan and caught is on the rebound. The team has still got to improve a lot in the midfield and their stamina. But the morale is high due to recent undefeated records. Lets hope the team keeps this record.

Global bank appeared to settle down during the second half and began passing the ball more confidently in the midfield. However, D2’s defense led by Biswa, Bijay, and Manoj made sure they did not have any clear opportunities.

D2 started the match pressing forward and it was not long before Ram got the first goal for D2. Shankar collected the pass from right wing and threaded it towards the unmarked Ram to finish coolly. Shankar then got the second for D2 what became the goal of the match. Another attack from the right wing Shankar Subedi found Shankar clear in the midfield. The Yomari defense backed off and paid the price as he beat the keeper with a strike from about 20 yards. Ram then scored two more, one from penalty to complete the hat-trick before halftime.

The opponent started the second half with more intent and managed to get back a goal early in the second half. But the opponent never managed to recover fully and at the end it was a convincing victory for D2.

Finally, the display of personal talent in the field during practice session was enormous, but, who will be picked up is interesting to watch.
