In our culture we greet each others with Namaste to show respect. Even though I was born and raised in the same culture, I practically had no idea of its literal meaning, until I saw this video.
NAMASTE : which means “I bow to the common spiritual divinity in you!!”
Sarah, a middle class Californian teenage girl traveled to Nepal in Spring of 2008 with documentary team to film, “Human Right Victim Searching for Justice.” In this journey she happened to travel through my Country Nepal and meet my fellow countrymen.
So here comes the video made by Sarah which has captured simple yet intrinsic difference between Developed Nation like USA and Developing nation like Nepal. Watch this video and tell me what she learned from her travel to Nepal.
I personally feel she saw the world with her own eyes, away from the Shadow and Curtain of Media!!
Wendell Phillips noted American abolitionist once said “Physical bravery is an animal instinct; moral bravery is much higher and truer courage.”
If you can’t recognize the HERO in this picture and wondering what’s happening there, then I have to give you the prologue first.
More than 20 hours had past and rescue squad consisting of Nepal Army, Police, Trekkers and Locals were frustrated and tired. Even after their continuous effort, attempts and re-attempts they were not able to rescue two and half year old girl, who had fallen in narrow gorge some 60 meters down below the ground. [gorge of Seti river in Pokhara, Nepal].
Then our Hero “Kamal Nepali” comes forward and volunteers himself for the rescue operation. Not knowing what lies ahead into that dark and mysterious gorge. Rescuers saw the hope as his body was small enough to crawl deep inside the gorge. But some objected pointing at his age and size, but our hero was determined and he insisted. He was the best available option left there.
After half an hour into the unknown, Kamal appears with the girl. Mission accomplished, he SAVED LIFE that day. Crowd cheered and applauded, everybody including girl’s father hugged him, and there was tears of joy everywhere.
Next day I read two liners in Newspapers, “Teen saved girl’s life”, my personal view is we should not be stingy on writing about this HEROIC act. This should have been FRONTPAGE News if I would have been an editor.
Scene for the movie Enemy at the Gates:
Stalin’s envoy Nikita Khrushchev comes to Stalingrad and warns a group of Soviet political officers, “If the Germans capture this city, the entire country will collapse.” Khrushchev demands suggestions as to how to motivate Soviet troops to stand up to the Germans, and Danilov proposes, “What we need are heroes.” “Do you know any heroes around here?” asks Khrushchev, to which Danilov replies, “Yes, Comrade, I know one.”
Don’t you think even NEPAL needs many HEROS like Kamal, at this juncture of time??

As Guy Kawasaki author of ” The Art of the Start” says, “ENTREPRENEUR” is not a job title: it’s the state of mind of people who want to alter the future. Doing, not learning to do, is the essence of entrepreneurship.
In Spring of 2008 I took Entrepreneurship class in my college, it was one of the best class I have ever taken in my entire life. Our professor introduced us to the world of possibility and reality. He also introduced us to the book, also know as bible of entrepreneurship ” The Art of the Start” by Guy Kawasaki.
I am going to take you to the brief journey into the world of entrepreneurship, and make you realize that YES I CAN do it feeling . People have this misconception that Entrepreneurship is only for the chosen ones. The steps provided by Kawasaki makes it so simple and doable. The thing one needs are IDEA/think differently, and DETERMINATION to pursue your dream. “TRUST THYSELF.” If you can’t trust yourself, who will??
I you like further reading…then please take a peek view on whats in the Book.
I believe this is going to be a handicapped match for Sprint, as iPhone is not just a phone. Steve Jobs and Apple is a strong brand value , backed by At&t's service, they have largest subscriber base. Also the fact that iPhone was sensational hit when it was launched.
Let the battle begin…
1. Technology used: even though both uses 3G technology. Sprint's Instinct uses EV-DO REV-A and iPhone runs on EDGE, technically EV-DO REV-A will have higher bandwidth. It means browsing in Sprint's Instinct will be much faster than iPhone.
2. GPS: Sprint Advertisement shows its very accurate, it can be very helpful while driving as it has turn by turn audio and video driving direction. iPhone lacks the accuracy and feature, but in next model they can bridge the gap.
3. Inbuilt Memory: iPhone as 16GB memory. Instinct 16/2 Max
4. Streaming Radio and Video: Sprint has advantage because of its higher bandwidth via EV-DO Rev-A technology. Also backed by Sprint TV and Radio + 150 more radio stations.
5. Phone as Modem: Sprint do anything for $69.99 is very economical plan, you can attach Instinct into your laptop and surf the web with broadband speed.
6. Price : Speculation: Instinct -less that $200(with discount), iPhone: around $300.
7. Better Network: At&t's "all bars anywhere" is just a marketing gimmick, the present iPhone user can share the pain. Sprint network has improved a lot.
