I was very delighted when Pramod dai informed me that my US visit has been scheduled for Aug of 2018. From that day on I was very excited about my visit. On July 31, I along with my colleague (Narayan Chalise) went to Boston via TIA. We had two transits, one at Abu Dhabi and another was at New York. On the same flight from Abu Dhabi, our US collegue Mukta didi and her family were returning to the US so we didn’t face any problems in any of our transits.

I love travelling. As soon as I saw the mail calling for participants, I didn’t think twice about sending my name as Sisneri was the very place I missed to go few months back.
Though it was squad C hike, none of my fellow colleagues agreed to go in the hike. I was feeling a little conscious about the fact I might get bored with all those unknown people. But, a part of me knew it clearly, I will make new friends and I will enjoy. That is exactly what happened.
In Nepal many people dream about visiting United States and among them I am one too. My dream came true on July 30th, 2018, I was given an opportunity to visit United States of America ; the land of dreams. I along with my colleague Raghu started our journey from TIA (Tribhuvan International Airport). We flew from Kathmandu to Boston via Abu Dhabi and New York.
There was a jolt of excitement among us when we learned that a two – day hike was being organized by Deerwalk Services for squad D. After all, this was a perfect opportunity to take a break from normal life and dive into the ambiance of nature.
My official visit to the US started from September 1, but before I going to the US I had a quick 1 week stop at Germany to visit my Sister, Brother in law and Aunt. I am very grateful to Deerwalk that I was granted a week of leave to visit Europe before stepping on the US soil. It was my first time going out of Asia. I landed in Germany on 27th August and departed from Germany on 1st September and Landed on Logan Airport, Boston on the same day.
As scheduled in the school calendar, a hike to Shivapuri Peak was organized for the students of Grade XI on Saturday, 22nd September, 2018. It was our first ever hike from the Deerwalk Sifal School which everyone was excited for. We were informed to be at school at sharp 7:30 am. Almost everyone was there on time. Some arrangements needed to be made, so we were not able to depart immediately. We left the school premises in a bus at about 8:30 am with 21 students and 6 teachers.
My official visit to US started from July 1, I was fully prepared for the trip and had learned about the flights, transits, United States cultures, dos & don’ts. Besides usual things, funny part about my trip preparation was that I used to watch the flight simulator videos on Youtube even though I was not going to operate the aircraft myself 😛 .
I along with Milan dai, started our US visit on 31st of May 2018. Our flight was late at 11 P.M and we landed at Boston via Dubai on 1st of June at around 2 PM. We grabbed a taxi to our hotel, where we were handed key-cards to our room. After shopping for our groceries, we were treated by a surprise visit by Suresh, Manish, Sushant dai and others at our hotel where we did a lot of catching up with bottles of beer. Then our regular schedule for work started from the next Monday with a similar routine of Abanish dai picking up on mornings and taking an Uber on evenings.
On 15th September, 2018 DSS +2 Hiking Club organized a one-day hike from Panauti to Namo Buddha. There were a total of 14 participants including 2 teachers. The participants gathered at Deerwalk Complex and left the premises at 8:00 A.M. At around 9:10 A.M, we reached Panauti Bazar and had light breakfast which included Puri Tarkari.
