Telkot - Nagarkot
Recollection Sameer Tualdhar
the route seemed very short walking up hills turn out to be so long
It was almost a month that we had gone for a hike. With the arrival of winter, the season of hiking has just begun. That’s why we were all prepared for a day long hike. Nagarkot has always been the popular place to hang out but most of us never really had got chance to walk through the trails from Telkot watching the beautiful views of mountain. This time the hiking team was very small than initially expected. Even though 5 people could not make out for the hike, we never felt like we were short in numbers. With Justin and Allison joining the hiking team, it was really enjoyable trip. Furthermore, Lava shared us all with his memories of US in his typical style. Bhanu and Tilak being the photographers of the hike, were able to capture very beautiful pictures of smiling mountains. All the way, we were searching for Mt. Everest but all was in vain as we couldn’t find it. “Easy said than done”; the route seemed very short walking up hills turn out to be so long as we moved on. It was a wonderful experience to stop and take snaps of those beautiful mountains. The weather was cool with fizzy atmosphere all around, with heat of the sun made us sweat all over. We choose to go the cool and shady way not to get sun burn, while Justin and Allison started to put there sun-blocks on their skin. Justin says –”We need it, it’s needed for we white people” Bhanu adds: - “We have inbuilt tan”. All way to the Tower, Lava and Bhanu were cracking jokes and entertained everyone. Finally accomplishing the Tower we stopped for an hour there with the beautiful shots of the Mountains and the Valley. On returning from Nagarkot, the lunch at Babar Mahal Revisited was very good. The reconstruction of the old palace has turned the old classic place into gold. We really had nice time during this hike and will be looking forward to go to places like this in the future again.
