    The Trade

Here is a short poem that reflects on the progressive effects of natural selection. While Charles Darwin coined the phrase to expound on evolutionary processes, I attempt to discuss the implication of this particular evolutionary idea encompassing wider perspectives as political, social, and economic matters.

    The Trade

    Baffled with worldly strategem
    The hierarchy’s here to stay
    Driven by unholistic principles
    Promiscuity exudes a threat
    The potent conquer their foreground
    Scare the frail aborigines away
    The world’s a selective empire
Precedence: the order of the day

    Predetors demolish predetors
    Battles for territorial land
    The fiercest make monopoly
    New hierarch procalimed
    Nations domineer nations
    Lust for supreme control
    Nuclear race for leadership
    Third World in turmoil

    Survival of the fittest
    Nature’s proclivities deep-rooted
    Struggle for existence
    Cacophony worldly vested
The victors rise to the occasion
    The vanquished perish in ovation
    The vibrant world of reality
    Live a lifetime of inequity

    Imperialism in retrospect
    Cultural invasion: the status quo
    Strengthen your economy
    Globalism: the way to go
    Bring them political metamorphosis
    Neophytes new burgeon out
    Ruin their identity
    Jingoism is now a doubt

    Oligarchy takes center stage
    Demogogues make promises
    Chaos and upheaval in-place
    Life’s profundity deteriorates
    Society practices ignorance
    And laid back for ages
    Banished to the lower spaces
    Of the hierarchal stages

    Survival of the fittest
    Nature’s proclivities deep-rooted
    Struggle for existence
    Cacophony worldly vested
The victors rise to the occasion
    The vanquished perish in ovation
    The vibrant world of reality
    Live a lifetime of inequity

      Very complicated to understand.

Nicely done. Black Sabbath or Slayer come to mind, but what you’ve written is more mature. Within EU, you seem to be at a higher calibre when it comes to poetry– but let’s see more of your work before we come to that conclusion.

      Great work!
It is definitely at a higher caliber and fit for a metal #.
This is such a well crafted work addressing common facts and facades in society in an occupying and prodigious way.
